TOP LEFT: Penny Rinderneck and Denise Smith took dictionaries to Arlington third-graders. They looked up words and checked out all the presidents. They looked up the 50 states, all planets and continents and saw the longest word — 1,909 letters. The auxiliary has been giving dictionaries to third graders for years.
CENTER LEFT: Denise Smith and Penny Rinderneck met with fourth-graders for a short lesson in flag etiquette and the meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance. Each student received an American flag at the awards event.
RIGHT: Jamie Smith won first in the third-grade America’s essay contest and went on to district and won first there also.
