WATERTOWN – The Bobcats picked up their first victory of the season, beating the Arrows 3-2 during Eastern South Dakota Conference boys’ soccer action Tuesday night.
Daniyil Potapenko netted what proved to be the game-winning goal just after intermission.
Keegan Fields scored on a header on a corner kick from Jonah Dobbs to open the scoring in the fifth minute.
Watertown’s Jayden Fiechtner scored twice in a 2-minute span to put the home team ahead 2-1.
Brookings answered soon thereafter as Gabel Goldhorn recorded a goal in the 16th minute. Mike Kindvall was credited with the assist.
Jake Weber was the Bobcats’ goalkeeper in the first half and Zander Larson handled the second-half duties.
Brookings (1-1, 1-0) plays at Huron on Monday at 6 p.m.
