SIOUX FALLS – The Bobcats’ five remaining singles players and three doubles teams were eliminated Friday at the State Boys’ Tennis Tournament.
Dalton Rittershaus toppled Rapid City Christian’s Jack Roisum 8-5 in the consolation quarterfinals in Flight 2 singles but dropped an 8-6 match to Watertown’s Mike Kruger in the semifinals.
At Flight 6, Dawson Peters got the day going with an 8-2 defeat of Spearfish’s Tim Doerges in the consolation quarterfinals. However, St. Thomas More’s Cullen Hill toppled Peters 8-3 in the semifinals.
Jonah Dobbs fell 8-2 to Aberdeen Roncalli’s Isaiah Vilhauer in the consolation quarterfinals at Flight 1.
In Flight 3, Micah Ardry dropped an 8-1 decision to St. Thomas More’s Will Raymond in the consolation quarterfinals.
Pierre’s Tate Johnson dropped Alex Miley 8-2 in the Flight 5 consolation quarterfinals.
In Flight 1 doubles, Dobbs and Rittershaus beat Aberdeen Roncalli’s Lucas Goetz and Vilhauer 8-7 (2) in the consolation quarterfinals but fell 8-2 to Sioux Falls Roosevelt’s Spenser Smith and Aiden Nguyen in the semifinals.
The Ardry/Weber duo dropped an 8-1 decision to Huron’s Henry Rubish and Landon Claeys in the Flight 2 consolation quarterfinals.
Harrisburg’s Karter Lein and Cole Van Holland defeated Miley and Peters 8-4 in the Flight 3 consolation quarters.
The tourney concludes Saturday.
