Monday, Aug. 20
6:13 a.m. Officer Popp responded to a report of a suspicious male parked in the Camelot Intermediate School parking lot. After an investigation, a juvenile male was taken into custody and released to his mother for tobacco and marijuana offenses.
7:48 a.m. Non-injury accident
9:01 a.m. Suspicious activity
11:48 a.m. Shoplifting – petty theft, less than $400
6:23 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Sixth Street for an agency assist. A report was filed.
Tuesday, Aug. 21
8:08 a.m. Intentional damage to property, $400 or less
11 a.m. Officer Popp took a report of a garbage truck vs. parked car accident. A city accident report was filed.
11:18 a.m. Officer Jurrens responded to a financial institution in regard to a possible counterfeit bill.
11:58 a.m. The Brookings Police Department assisted the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office with a drug investigation in Volga. The case remains under investigation.
4:18 p.m. Officers Weets and Officer Weinrich were dispatched to the 700 block of 22nd Avenue South for a report of shoplifting. Two people were arrested for obstruction of law enforcement officers and disorderly conduct.
7 p.m. An individual called to file a missing persons report. An attempt to locate was dispersed to surrounding areas.
Wednesday, Aug. 22
7:17 a.m. Officer Larsen responded to the 1000 block of 15th Street South and the 1300 block of Yorktown Circle for reports of vehicles being broken into. It is currently under investigation.
8:06 a.m. Officer Pollman took a report of a maroon knee scooter stolen from a residence in the 900 block of Sixth Avenue.
8:42 a.m. Officer Jurrens responded to the 500 block of Main Avenue in reference to a vandalism.
10 a.m. Agency assists
11:16 a.m. Officer Jurrens responded to the 400 block of Third Avenue South in reference to a 911 call.
1:30 p.m. Officer Larsen took a report of a hit-and-run crash in the 900 block of Sixth Avenue. There are no suspects at this time.
7:33 p.m. A report of another vehicle break-in in the 1400 block of Willow Springs Circle was reported. Nothing was taken. An investigation is ongoing.
9:07 p.m. Officers pulled over a vehicle for speeding. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana.
Thursday, Aug. 23
7:06 a.m. Officer Larsen responded to a non-injury accident in the 1200 block of Fourth Street. A city accident report was filed.
9:19 a.m. Officer McCaskill was requested to the 1700 block of Terrace Drive for the report of a vehicle entered, but no items were stolen.
10:42 a.m. A number of vehicle burglaries were reported.
3:27 p.m. Officer Larsen responded to the 700 block of Main Avenue for a report of found property. A report was taken, and the items discovered are in safekeeping.
6:41 p.m. Officers responded to the intersection of Main Avenue and Front Street for a two-vehicle, non-injury crash. A report was filed.
10:06 p.m. Officers spoke with a female at the police department in regard to a no contact order violation. A report was filed.
