BROOKINGS — The city of Brookings is accepting nominations for the 2023 Mayor’s Generational Leadership Award. The award recognizes the importance of young leaders who help make the community vibrant and dynamic. The nomination deadline is July 31 at 5 p.m.
The award is given to a community member age 35 or younger who has impacted the community in the following ways:
The Mayor’s Generational Leadership Award was created in 2014. Recent past recipients include Samantha Turnquist, Brianna Doran, Ashley Biggar and Kyle Bender.
All nominations will be considered and reviewed by Mayor Oepke “Ope” Niemeyer. Nomination forms, instructions and additional information can be found at www.cityofbrookings-sd.gov/ GenerationalLeadershipAward.
Completed nomination forms should be submitted via email to City Clerk Bonnie Foster at BFoster@cityofbrookings-sd.gov. They also can be mailed to or dropped off at the Brookings City & County Government Center, 520 Third St., Suite 230, Brookings. For questions, call 605-697-8641.
The award recipient will be recognized at a combined awards event in December.
