Brookings police log for 10-05-22

Monday, Sept. 19

7:53 a.m. Officers responded to the 900 block of Eighth Street South for a two-vehicle accident. A report was generated.

7:59 a.m. Brookings Police contacted an individual who smelled like marijuana. Drug items were located. One male was arrested.

10:17 a.m. Officer Schneider received a report of threatening text messages sent to a juvenile female. A report was made, and charges are pending.

4:01 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of a stolen bicycle. The bike had a lock through the front tire. The tire was removed, and it appeared another wheel had been taken off a different bike.

9:14 p.m. Officers took a report on drug information.

Tuesday, Sept. 20

1:43 a.m. Officers were requested to the Brookings Hospital for a sexual assault nurse examiner kit.

8:12 a.m. Officers responded to the intersection of Eighth Street South and Parkway Avenue for a report of a two-vehicle accident. A report was generated.

1:02 p.m. BPD responded to a report of a runaway 16-year-old girl. A report was filed.

2:41 p.m. Brookings Police took a call in regard to a juvenile incident. An investigation is ongoing.

3:24 p.m. Law enforcement investigated a non-injury accident. A city accident report was completed.

7:03 p.m. Brookings Police officers were dispatched to Western Estates for a parking complaint. Four males were cited for underage purchase or possession of alcoholic beverages; underage possession of tobacco; and possession or use of drug paraphernalia.

8:23 p.m. Sgt. Weinrich responded to the 2200 block of Sixth Street for a report of theft. A suspect was identified, and charges are pending.
