BROOKINGS — March will soon be off to a busy start at the Brookings Public Library.

On March 5 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., the library and the SDSU Chemistry Club will host a Chemistry Showcase. This all-ages, drop-in event will introduce attendees to the wonders of science through demonstrations of fun experiments

On March 11 at 6 p.m., acclaimed author and poet Patrick Hicks will conduct a fiction writing workshop at the library. Participants will gain insight into the life of a writer, hone their own craft, and learn more about how the power of words can shape our daily lives. Registration is required and opens March 4.

On March 14 at 6 p.m., the library will be hosting a Pie and Puzzles Competition. Bring your friends, eat some pie, and see which team can complete their puzzle the fastest. A prize will be awarded to the winners. Teams of 4 or fewer can register starting March 7.

Call the library, send a Facebook message (@bkglib), or email mneubauer@cityofbrookings-sd.gov to reserve your spot.
