SIOUX FALLS – The ‘Chutes picked up a pair of wins in the Sioux Falls Invitational on Saturday at Harmodon to finish with a 2-1 record in the event.
Brookings beat Lincoln East 6-3 to wrap up pool play and then dropped Worthing 15-0 in four innings.
The remainder of the tournament was canceled due to the weather.
The ‘Chutes (8-10) play a doubleheader at Mitchell on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Caden Wright threw a one-hit shutout and four different ‘Chutes recorded multiple RBIs in the victory.
Wright struck out four batters and walked two.
Brookings scored seven runs in the opening inning, three in the second and five in the fourth.
Max Kjelden went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
Cayden Jacobsma (two hits), Kyle Bauer and Max Struck added a pair of RBIs apiece. Nick Schefers doubled.

Trailing 3-1, the ‘Chutes put up five runs in the fourth frame en route to the win.
Jackson Krogman earned the win on the mound, giving up three runs – two earned – on seven hits with seven strikeouts and three walks in a complete-game performance. He also went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Henry Hammerich drove in two runs. Caden Wright finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.
