BROOKINGS – The Southwest Community College in Creston, Iowa, will put on a show for local music lovers at a price everyone will love: free.
The concert, scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at Bell Auditorium at Brookings High School, features two of their vocal jazz groups, which are part of the college’s School of Music Vocations, on their Midwest Tour taking them from Wisconsin to the Dakotas.
They’ll sing jazz standards, a cappella, originals, Latin, R&B and rock.
The college’s School of Music Vocations is a professional program that helps prepare its students for the music industry and/or pursue their bachelor’s degree in music, and its faculty includes some of the nation’s leading vocal jazz experts, according to BHS choir director Denise Perry.
