Delores Lillian Koepsell, age 93, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Ava’s Hospice House in Sioux Falls.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 10th from 6-8 P.M. at Eidsness Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, July 11th at First Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Delores was born on March 30, 1931, in Canova, SD, the daughter of Albert and Ila (Loudenburg) Johnson. She received her education in rural school near Canova, SD, and was a graduate of the Canova High School in 1949.  Delores continued her education at Sioux Valley Hospital School of Nursing, and graduated in 1952.  She was united in marriage to Paul Loel Koepsell on June 10, 1952 in Canova.  Delores was employed at Virginia Mason Hospital and West Seattle Hospital in Seattle, WA.  She was later employed as a part-time nurse in the Brookings School System, and was also an operating room nurse at the Brookings Hospital.  Delores retired in 1997.  Paul died on March 17, 2001.

Delores was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Women’s Association, Registered Nurses Association, Sioux Valley Hospital School of Nursing Alumni, P.E.O. Chapter CA, and the Women’s Club at SDSU.  She enjoyed stitchery, cooking, SDSU sports and especially spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her children; Royal (Lori) Koepsell of Colorado Springs, CO, and Pamela Koepsell of Sioux Falls; daughter-in-law, Jean Koepsell of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Michelle, Adrienne (Erik) Watz, and Greta (Jake) Fielitz; great-grandchildren: Ronald, Raelin, Ramiel, James, Emmett, Lena, Grace, Sawyer, and Wyatt; sister, Iona Powers; and numerous other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Ivan; and son, Steven.
