Edwin L. Kilber, 92, of Egan, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at Riverview Healthcare Community in Flandreau.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Monday, at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau. Burial is in Union Cemetery in Flandreau. Visitation is 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
He was born Sept. 5, 1924, at Carter, to Reinhold and Anna Kilber. He received his education in country schools in the Norris area.
Ed entered the U.S. Army on Jan. 14, 1944, and served in Europe during World War II. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 16, 1945.
Ed married Wanda Divant and they had three children. Ed drove truck all his life, owning Kilber Trucking through the 1990s.
On May 17, 1961, Ed married Linda Blanchard in Slayton, Minn., and they had three children. They moved to Egan, in 1963. He drove school bus for Egan and Flandreau for many years.
Ed is survived by his wife Linda; four sons, Allen (Malissa) and Darby (Shelly) of Illinois; Robert (Elaine) of Colman and Corey (Brooke) of Brookings; two daughters, Sandra Mesa of Hill City and Pamela Kahler of Volga; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Ed was preceded in death three brothers and three sisters.
