BROOKINGS — Eric Lohr, a music education major at South Dakota State University, will present his junior recital at 2 p.m. Friday in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center’s Founders Recital Hall on the SDSU campus.
A tenor from Sioux City, Iowa, Lohr’s primary instructor is Laura Diddle.
Lohr will perform classical music in French, Italian, German and English, by composers Gabriel Fauré, Reynaldo Hahn, Ernest Chausson, Giulio Caccini, Francesco Paolo Tosti, Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Gerald Finzi, Aaron Copland and Michael Head.
He will be assisted by Deb Kalsbeck on piano.
Lohr has participated in concert choir, the Statesmen, The Pride of the Dakotas Marching Band, wind symphony, concert band, jazz ensemble, sax quartet and Hop-apella and was selected as a soloist through the School of Performing Arts’ Concerto/Aria Competition.
The recital is free, and the public invited to attend.
