BROOKINGS – The Brookings Special Education Department celebrated Disability Awareness Week this year around the worldwide date of the Spread the Word campaign, which is held annually the first Wednesday in March.
Along with bringing awareness of specific disabilities to the students, a T-shirt was designed and sold to help remind others to spread kindness.
Proceeds from the T-shirt sales totaled just over $2,100 and are being donated to the Brookings Special Olympics chapter.
