BROOKINGS — Nick Wendell has filed sufficient signatures to be placed on the April 9 ballot for the position of City Council member, according to a news release from the city of Brookings.
To date, Wayne Avery and Wendell, the incumbents, have filed to run again for City Council. Al Austreim has also filed for the position.
Ope Niemeyer has filed to run again for mayor, without opposition thus far.
The deadline for petitions is today — Friday, Feb. 23.
