BROOKINGS – Lawrence Johnson recently joined the SDSU Foundation as the development director for the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
“Lawrence joins the SDSU Foundation with more than 25 years of experience in the field of higher education development and a true passion for enhancing the opportunities available at the university,” said Holly Tilton Byrne, human resources generalist of the SDSU Foundation. “We are so excited to have him as part of our team.”
A native of Pensacola, Florida, Johnson attended Long Beach State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and earned his Master of Science in college student personnel from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse.
Before joining the SDSU Foundation, he spent 25 years in the advancement field, including assignments in New York, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. Most recently, he was the vice president for university development and alumni engagement at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Johnson resides in Brookings with his wife, Jen, and children, Shelby, Aidan and Sawyer.
