The True Grit Award is given in loving memory of Deb Ford to the showman who embodied poise and hard work throughout the day of the show. This showman has illustrated diligence in their efforts to achieve their goals and maintain composure.

Maintaining a positive attitude while demonstrating persistence, commitment, and adaptability are admirable qualities to possess both inside and outside of the show ring. The recipient of this award has exhibited these qualities individually and in harmony with each other.

The 2024 recipient was Maddisyn Thompson of Elkton and the Medary Creek Beavers 4-H Club.
