BROOKINGS – A Minnesota man is in the Brookings County Jail on $25,000 cash bond following a drug arrest and could face charges including distribution and child neglect.
Verran Burdunice, 59, of Brooklyn Center, MN, was stopped on I-29 near mile marker 134 Wednesday after police say they conducted a drug operation in the 2400 block of 6th Street.
According to a release from the Brookings Police Department, officers located approximately 150 grams of methamphetamine, 100 grams of crack cocaine, 1.4 grams of heroin, and $2000 cash — which was seized pending forefeiture.
A 2-year-old child was in the car with Burdunice and was turned over to the Department of social services.
Burdunice was arrested for distribution of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and child abuse/neglect.
