BROOKINGS – The Brookings School District has announced that the “Patricia M. Larson Award for Excellence in Elementary Education” is open for nominations. This award is an ongoing tribute in memory of Larson, who dedicated her life to children’s education. The award is $2,000 to the teacher and $2,000 to the school where he/she is employed.
Any Brookings colleague, school administrator, student, parent or community member may make the nominations for Brookings K-5 teachers. All of the information for this award, how to nominate a local teacher, and the background of Larson can be found on the Brookings School District website.
If you feel that there is a special teacher within the Brookings School District, consider nominating them for this wonderful award. The deadline for nominations is March 15.
