BROOKINGS – Halle Maroney placed first at the local VFW Auxiliary in the Young American Creative Art scholarship contest for her pencil drawing. The artwork also won at the state level and will represent South Dakota in national competition.
Maroney is a senior at Brookings High School. She is shown recieving the award from Wanda Mix, Auxiliary president.
