BROOKINGS – A woman was arrested for allegedly hitting a man with a baseball bat Tuesday, according to Brookings Police.
Lorna Dean, 64, of Brookings, is facing a felony charge of aggravated assault domestic, Lt. Marci Gebers said.
The report of an assault in progress came in at 5:51 p.m. Tuesday and occurred in the 1000 block of Western Avenue, Gebers said.
Dean and the 57-year-old man knew each other, she added.
“(Officers) found a male subject had been struck with a bat twice in the arm and once in the stomach,” Gebers said.
“It was found that (Dean) had struck the victim with the bat following a verbal argument,” Gebers said.
The man was not treated or transported, she added.
Dean’s bond was set at $5,000 cash only with a bond hearing scheduled for Thursday morning.
