Jerry Thoms, Brookings nature writer and photographer, has been awarded second-prize in the “experienced” (age 60 to 79) photography category at the 22nd annual SDHCA (South Dakota Health Care Association) Dakota Masterworks Art Show held in Sioux Falls Nov. 1 and 2.
Eleven photos were entered in the experienced category. Thom’s entry is called: “Pick of the litter?”
The show drew a total of more than 120 entries in a variety of categories that included: watercolor painting, oil painting, acrylic painting, drawing/pastels, photography, mixed media and woodcarving.
The winning entries will be traveling around South Dakota and displayed at a variety of exhibits, including the Ramkota Hotel in Pierre at the SDHCA Legislative Reception on Jan. 22.
