TORONTO – A pickup was deemed a total loss after it caught fire Monday, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire was reported at noon Monday and occurred at 47360 197th St., southwest of Toronto, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.
“It was found that the owner of the 2012 Chevy Silverado pick-up parked the vehicle in the yard away from a shed he was working in. The owner stated about 10 minutes later, he noticed smoke coming out of the driver’s side window that was rolled down. He then called 911 and the Toronto Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire,” Sebring said.
The truck was a complete loss, he added.
“The cause of the fire is unknown at this time,” Sebring said.
