Monday, July 5
2:44 a.m. Brookings Police conducted a traffic stop. The driver was arrested for zero-tolerance DUI and cited for underage consumption
3:56 p.m. Law enforcement took a report of a vehicle accident in parking lot. City accident report completed.
Tuesday, July 6
6:31 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of a runaway juvenile. A report and state case has been generated.
8:26 p.m. A citizen of Brookings arrived at the police station to file a report of alleged sexual assault. A report has been generated.
Wednesday, July 7
12:27 p.m. Officers spoke with a Brookings resident regarding a weapon law violation. A dagger was discovered buried in the sand, blade pointing up, at a local playground. An investigation is ongoing. There are no suspects at this time.
7:24 p.m. Warrant
Thursday, July 8
11:53 p.m. Brookings Police responded to the 100 block of Second Street South in regard to a theft. A report was generated.
Friday, July 9
12:46 a.m. The Brookings Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of 17th Avenue for a stop sign violation. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence.
1:35 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of 12th Street South for a report of fight in progress. Officers arrived and met with a female who was identified as the reporting party. Throughout the investigation, it was determined a domestic assault had occurred. One male was arrested for several charges including aggravated assault domestic.
12:08 p.m. Officers responded to the 600 block of 22nd Avenue to a non-injury crash. One driver was cited. A report was taken.
8:19 p.m. Brookings Police were called to Ray’s Corner for a disorderly male. One male was arrested.
8:33 p.m. The Brookings Ambulance and Brookings Police Department were dispatched to the 900 block of Southland Lane for a report of an unresponsive male laying in a parking lot. Officers and EMS arrived and determined the male was severely intoxicated. The male was ultimately arrested for multiple outstanding warrants.
11:10 p.m. Brookings Police conducted a traffic stop. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence and possession of a loaded firearm while intoxicated.
