Friday, July 29
12:44 p.m. Officers responded to a minor two-vehicle collision in the 1700 block of Eighth Street.
1:23 p.m. Officers took a report of a suspicious person who was lurking around a residential yard in the 800 block of Ninth Avenue in Brookings. The suspicious person drove off in a four-door silver Chevrolet Colorado with a rolled-up tonneau cover. A report was generated.
1:38 p.m. Officer Page took a report of damaged property at 1722 Torrey Pines. A report was generated.
6:12 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of fraud. The caller requested payment in the form of Amazon gift cards and was able to access the victim’s phone through an app they requested the victim download. A total of $2,500 was lost.
8:19 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of theft from a business in the 2200 block of Sixth Street. A report was filed and being investigated.
Saturday, July 30
2:07 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Eighth Street West for a domestic disturbance. One female was arrested for simple assault domestic and burglary. A report was filed.
2:26 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of assault in the 1400 block of 17th Avenue South.
9:56 a.m. Officers responded to the 100 block of Second Street South for a report of a suicidal male. The male was taken to the hospital, and a report was taken.
3:22 p.m. Brookings Police officers were dispatched to 330 21st Ave. S. for an hit-and-run accident. A report was taken.
3:46 p.m. Law enforcement took a report of felony theft.
5:32 p.m. Brookings Police officers were dispatched to 319 1/2 Main Ave. for a possible vandalism. A report was taken, and the incident is being investigated.
9:53 p.m. Brookings Police stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. Drug items were located inside the vehicle. One female was arrested.
11:40 p.m. Brookings Police stopped a vehicle after observing a minor accident. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence.
