Friday, Sept. 16
2:04 p.m. Officers responded to the 1300 Block of 12th Street South for a two-vehicle accident. A report was generated.
2:48 p.m. Officers responded to the 2200 block of Sixth Street for a complaint of a hit-and-run. A report was generated, and the incident is under investigation.
6:24 p.m. Brookings Police officers were dispatched to Walmart for a report of non-injury accident that happened on 22nd Avenue. Report was taken.
9:58 p.m. Law enforcement investigated an assault.
Saturday, Sept. 17
12:14 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop. The male driver was arrested for DUI-first offense and given a verbal warning for the license plate light.
1:45 a.m. Brookings Police officers initiated a traffic stop for failing to use blinker. The driver was arrested for DUI.
2:13 a.m. BPD conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Fourth Street and Third Avenue. One female was arrested for DUI.
3:14 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of theft by deception. The individual claimed to have a home for rent in Brookings. They requested half of the rent up front and would then send a key for the living space.
4:02 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of theft from the 400 block of Fourth Street. A report was filed.
6:51 p.m. Brookings Police Officers took a report of vandalism in the 200 block of West Eighth Street. A report was generated.
