Friday, Sept. 20
12:54 a.m. Officers responded to 824 First Ave. for a suspicious person. Multiple other people reported a suspicious person on campus.
2:47 a.m. DUI-first offense
6:25 a.m. Brookings Police and Brookings Ambulance responded to the 1200 block of Fifth Street South for a two-vehicle, injury accident. A state accident report was filed, and charges are pending.
7:54 a.m. Officer Engstrom responded to the 1400 block of 12th Street South for a report of vandalism. A report was filed.
11:05 a.m. The Brookings Police Department received information regarding possible financial exploitation. An investigation is ongoing.
11:39 a.m. Officer Engstrom responded to the 300 block of Third Avenue South for a motor vehicle accident involving a parked vehicle. A report was filed.
12:47 p.m. A report of a hit-and-run accident occurred at the Culver’s parking lot. A report was filed.
2:18 p.m. Officer Engstorm responded to the 1000 block of Sixth Street for a two-vehicle, non-injury motor vehicle crash. A report was filed.
6:50 p.m. Officer Page took a report of a damaged mailbox at 1815 Ninth Ave. S.
8:44 p.m. Possession or use of drug paraphernalia; underage purchase or possession of alcoholic beverages; open container, broken seal in motor vehicle
Saturday, Sept. 21
1:16 a.m. Lane driving required – changing lanes – violation as misdemeanor; driving while suspended; DUI-second offense
2:11 a.m. DUI-first offense
2:26 a.m. Possession or use of drug paraphernalia; improper lighting of license plate; traffic controlled by go, caution, or stop lights – signal at place other than intersection
10:07 a.m. Brookings Police stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and intent to deliver drug paraphernalia.
3:56 p.m. Officer Kreutner took a theft report in regard to a bicycle. A report was generated.
11:37 p.m. Officers stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of Seventh Avenue for a brake light violation. One male was arrested for marijuana-related charges.
Sunday, Sept. 22
2:36 a.m. Officer Pollman conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Medary Avenue South for an equipment violation. The driver was arrested for zero tolerance DUI and underage consumption.
12:25 p.m. Officer Kreutner was dispatched to the 700 block of Sixth Avenue in regard to intentional damage to property. A report was generated.
6:38 p.m. Sexual assault
11:19 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of Western Avenue. One male was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI. A report was filed.
