On June 4, a group of Brookings seniors got together at Madsen Gardens at Lake Campbell to plant potatoes for the benefit of Feeding Brookings.
The men used antique machinery from the horse-drawn era to cut and plant the potatoes. Runnings is a supporter of the operation, which placed one ton of potatoes with Feeding Brookings last year.
Shown above planting potatoes, from left, are driver Ron Eggen, spotter Linn Dahl and planter operator Linn Bergjord. Below, filling planter bins with potatoes are Dahl, left, and Bergjord. All three are from Brookings.
