Residence broken into in Volga

VOLGA — A home in Volga was burgled recently without any property being stolen, according to a Tuesday news release from the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office wrote that a party reported the break-in sometime Monday night or Tuesday morning. When deputies responded, they found that someone broke the glass entry door and entered the residence.

Deputies believe the supect or suspects rummaged through several rooms before resecuring the house and leaving without taking anything.

The cost to repair the broken glass was estimated at $40.

This incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office. Residents near the 100 block of U.S. Highway 14 are being asked to check their security cameras and report any suspicious activity observed during time from around 4:30 p.m. Monday to 6:20 a.m. Tuesday.
