VOLGA – The railroad crossing at Caspian Avenue in Volga was damaged in a hit and run, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
The damage was reported at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring.
“It was found that an unknown vehicle was traveling south and struck the RR crossing gate. The damage to the gate is estimated at $600 to $1,000 damage,” Sebring said.
There are no suspects at this time. The incident is under investigation with the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
