BROOKINGS – The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics made a stop in Brookings Monday afternoon, with athletes, coaches and volunteers bringing the Flame of Hope to both Mickelson Middle School and Brookings High School. Students greeted the delegation at each school as they ran through the parking lots. The runners are headed to the 2017 Special Olympics South Dakota Summer Games in Spearfish and are making stops throughout the state along the way.
