BROOKINGS – South Dakota State University junior Katie Schlenker, a music education major from Sioux Falls, will hold a recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Peterson Recital Hall in the Lincoln Music Hall on the SDSU campus.
Schlenker, who plays the alto and soprano saxophone, is a section leader with The Pride of Dakotas Marching Band and participates in the SDSU Women’s Choir, Symphonic Band and Jazz Band. She is also a member of Tau Beta Sigma, serving as vice president for two years.
She will perform works by Alexander Glazunov, Giovanni Platti and David Von Kampen. Andy Horst, soprano saxophone, Devon Kortan, alto saxophone, Brittany Kruger, baritone saxophone, and John Walker, piano, will assist her onstage.
