Reynolds, who plays the trumpet, is also the director for the School of Performing Arts.

BROOKINGS – South Dakota State University professor David Reynolds will hold his faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center’s Founders Recital Hall on the South Dakota State University campus. Reynolds, who plays the trumpet, is also the director for the School of Performing Arts.
The recital is closed to the general public. However, the program will be livestreamed. The link will be posted on the School of Performing Arts’ events calendar Thursday. For more information, call the SDSU School of Performing Arts at 688-5187.
Titled “A Quiet City: Breaking the Silence,” the concert’s first half features music from the Romantic and Contemporary eras and uses the Salmen/Reuter pipe organ. Works by Vincenzo Bellini, Frank Bridge and Aaron Copland will be performed.
The second half features pieces by Baroque composer William Corbett and a South Dakota premiere of a Daniel Dorff work.
SDSU professors Mark Stevens and Tammy Yonce will join Reynolds onstage as will Sioux Falls organist Zachary Brockhoff and Jeffrey Paul, the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra’s principal oboe.
