BROOKINGS – A shotgun and waders were stolen Sunday, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
The theft was reported at 11 a.m. Sunday and occurred near 217th Street and 469th Avenue, south of Brookings, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.
The report was for the theft of a 12-gauge Remington 870 pump shotgun with a wood stock valued at $250 and a pair of Frogtogs waders valued at $100, Sebring said.
“The waders and shotgun were left leaning on a hay bale near some public hunting area for a half hour, and when (the owners) returned, they were gone,” Sebring said.
The theft occurred between 10-10:30 a.m. Sunday, he added.
