BROOKINGS – An adult and two children were taken to the hospital for evaluation after a one-vehicle accident south of White on Saturday, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident was reported at 12:45 p.m. Saturday and occurred on 478th Street, a half mile south of 205th Street, according to Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring.
“It was found that 27-year-old Anthony Dempewolf of Brookings was traveling northbound on 478th Avenue in his 2004 Cadillac Escalade and hit a slippery stretch of road, causing him to lose control of the vehicle,” Sebring said.
“The vehicle entered the west ditch and hit a field approach causing the vehicle to become airborne before coming to rest in the west ditch,” Sebring said.
“The driver and two passengers, Tierrien Dempewolf, age 4, and Theedrick Dempewolf, age 2, were all taken by ambulance to the Brookings hospital to be evaluated for injuries,” Sebring said.
The damage to the vehicle was estimated around $2,000, he added.
Also responding to the accident was the White Ambulance.
