ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State’s Sydney Bormann picked up another postseason honor for the Jackrabbit women’s golf squad after being named to the 2018 Summit League All-Academic Team.
Bormann had the highest GPA of the five honorees with a 4.0 in human biology.
On the golf course, the sophomore finished third among the Jacks and 10th in the league with a 76.39 stroke average. One of three players to compete in all 31 rounds, Bormann won the Lady Thunderbird Invitational and collected two top-five finishes.
Bormann enters next season with a career stroke average of 77.32, with two top-five and four top-10 finishes.
Bormann joins former Jackrabbit Sydney MacDonald (2014-15) as Summit League All-Academic honorees for SDSU.
To be eligible for the academic all-league team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team’s competitions. The men’s and women’s golf academic all-league teams are made up of the five student-athletes receiving the most votes with all ties standing.
