WATERTOWN – The host Arrows edged the Bobcats 5-4 in a boys’ tennis dual Thursday.
Watertown won two of the three doubles matches and the teams split the six singles matchups.
Brookings’ Jonah Dobbs swept Dylan Hillberg 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles.
Dalton Rittershaus dropped Jordan Urban 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2.
Dobbs and Rittershaus teamed for a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Hillberg and Urban in No. 1 doubles action.
Dawson Peters rallied for a 1-6, 7-5, 10-2 win against Dawson Tschakert in a No. 4 singles showdown.
Seven of the nine matches ended in straight sets, the other exception being at No. 2 doubles where Watertown’s Drew Veflin and Tschakert held off Micah Ardry and Peters for a 6-2, 2-6, 10-6 triumph.
Brookings (0-5) plays host to Harrisburg, Milbank and Vermillion in a quadrangular today beginning at noon.
