A celebration of life service for Virginia F. “Ginny” Norgaard Dahl of Brookings, formerly of Arlington will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Private family inurnment will be in the Arlington City Cemetery.
Virginia “Ginny” F. Dahl, 91, of Arlington, SD, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at United Living Community in Brookings, SD. Arrangement by Johnson-Henry/Crawford-Osthus Funeral Home of Arlington, Lake Preston, Oldham.
Virginia Lang was born Oct. 18, 1932, to Walter and Frieda (Grosgebauer). They lived in the rural Huff, ND, area during her childhood years and then moved to Mandan, ND, where she graduated from Mandan High School in 1950. She was employed by the Division of Vital Statistics at the ND State Health Department/
On March 5, 1952, Virginia was married to Curtis Norgaard, making their home in Arlington, SD where he was the Repair Parts Manager for A&M Chevrolet. She was employed at the Blue Mist Truck Stop for 17 years followed by seven years as the Arlington School Food Supervisor. The couple purchased Kings Lanes in 1977 where she assisted her husband until his death in 1984. She was then employed at the Arlington Handi Mart for several years, retiring in July of 1998.
On Feb. 14, 1991, she married Lowell Dahl and moved to rural Arlington. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith, sh
e and Lowell were members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Arlington.
Ginny is survived by her husband, Lowell Dahl, her son Rick (Kim), her son Kevin, eight grandchildren and several great, and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis, their daughter, Bonnie and brothers Robert and Marvin of Minot and Mandan, ND.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
