PIEDMONT — A 47-year-old man died Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle UTV crash 6 miles northeast of Piedmont.
Preliminary crash information indicates Aaron M. Sibilsky of Pulaski, Wisconsin, the driver of a 2020 Tracker XTR1000 UTV, was traveling north on Ricard Road about 3 miles south of Tilford Road. The Tracker failed to negotiate a turn, left the roadway and struck a fence in the ditch that was part of a cattle guard in the road. The Tracker tripped and overturned.
Both the driver and passenger were ejected from the vehicle. Sibilsky died from his injuries at the scene. The passenger, Nichole M. Behrent, 46, of Appleton, Wisconsin, was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
