BROOKINGS – A Brookings woman was taken to the hospital after her vehicle collided with a business on Sixth Street Monday, according to Brookings Police.
The accident was reported shortly after 1:45 p.m. Monday and occurred at Pro Lube in the 1000 block of Sixth Street, Assistant Chief Derrick Powers said.
Samantha Alfke, 22, of Brookings, was driving a 2000 Chevy Malibu east on Sixth Street.
“She had a medical issue which caused the vehicle to leave the road and struck the building, causing structural damage to the building,” Powers said.
Alfke was transported to the hospital by the Brookings Ambulance. There were no other injuries reported, Powers said.
There was no estimate on damages to either the Chevy or the building, Powers said.
