The Class B All-State and All-Region teams were announced on Thursday. Sioux Valley’s senior pitcher Parker Puetz was the only area player on All-State, and he was on the first team.

MADISON – Flandreau’s Keva Bursheim shot an 85 to win the Region 1A golf meet by four strokes on Thursday at the Madison Country Club.

BROOKINGS – Nearly 2,800 student-athletes will embark on Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls starting today and continuing through Saturday for the running of the 116th SDHSAA Track & Field Championships.

BROOKINGS – Two Brookings baseball players were selected for All-State recognition as announced on Wednesday by the South Dakota High School Baseball Association.

PIERRE – Aberdeen Central matched their result at last week’s Bill Scholten Invitational as the Golden Eagles took home team conference champion honors at the Eastern South Dakota Conference meet held Tuesday at Hillsview Golf Course in Pierre.

Led by first-team selections Derek Hackman and Ryan Bourassa, five South Dakota State baseball players were honored Tuesday on the 2022 All-Summit League Baseball Team. Selections were determined by a vote among the league’s seven head coaches.

DELL RAPIDS – The Region 2B golf meet was held at Rocky Run Golf Course in Dell Rapids to determine the boys and girls who will qualify for the Class B state tournament.

BROOKINGS – The South Dakota State baseball team will begin postseason play tomorrow. The Jackrabbits are the No. 3 seed in the Summit League Tournament and will play No. 2 seeded Oral Roberts, who is hosting the tournament, at 6 p.m. in Tulsa.

BROOKINGS – After earning the right to host a regional tournament after a 17-7 regular season the Brookings Bobcats baseball team saw its season come to a close in the region championship.

ORLANDO, Fla. – The South Dakota State softball team’s season came to an end on Sunday afternoon as the Jackrabbits lost to Michigan 4-1 in the Orlando Regional.

Fourteen former players will be inducted into the South Dakota High School Basketball Hall of Fame in August. They will be memebers of the Class of 2022 and are from seven different decades ranging from 1947 to 2004.

BROOKINGS – The Brookings Cubs picked up two wins on the weekend in games at Bob Shelden Field.

RAPID CITY – Brookings freshman Carson Kreie, the Bobcats’ flight six representative at the Class AA state tennis tournament in Rapid City, secured a ninth place finish in the flight and was the only Bobcat to win a match during the state tourney.
