ABERDEEN – A group of the South Dakota State track and field team traveled to the Northern State Twilight on Friday and came away with 14 wins with 16 personal-best marks.

The women’s 100-meter group had Kristin Pistulka and Chloe Bermel recording personal-best marks while Kayla Neff tied her PR.

Haley Mottinger and Sara Bohan recorded their first career marks in the event. Mottinger also won the 100-meter hurdles with a personal-best mark.

The Jacks took first in the hammer throw for both men and women while adding a win from the women’s discus throw and another in the men’s shot put.

Abby Sudbeck notched a 177-foot hammer throw, closing in on her season-best mark. Allison Torrance recorded eighth in hammer, but won the discus throw.

On the men’s side, Logan Ammons finished first, eight feet short of his season best and unattached Sam Coil recorded the win in the shot put. Max Reinke was behind him in second with a season-best throw.

There were also a few Jacks who competed in distance events at the Red Raider Open, hosted by Northwestern (IA).

Emma Nelson finished fifth with a personal-best in the women’s 5,000, while Sam Ivanecky, Ray Munsterman, and Jacob Wilts posted their first 10,000 runs of their career.

Up Next: The Jacks are scheduled to compete in the USD Twilight and Drake Relays next week.
