Four area teams were in action on Tuesday for volleyball. Colman-Egan, Arlington and Deubrook Area all picked up sweeps, while Flandreau fell in four sets.

Area VB: Hawks, Cardinals, Dolphins all sweep

Four area teams were in action on Tuesday for volleyball. Colman-Egan, Arlington and Deubrook Area all picked up sweeps, while Flandreau fell in four sets.

 Colman-Egan 3, Canistota 0

COLMAN – Canistota hung around in the first set, but Colman-Egan then pulled away in the next two sets. C-E won the 25-21 in the first set, 25-14 in the second and 25-7 in the third and final set. 

Daniela Lee had 14 digs and six kills for C-E. Lanie Mousel had 16 assists and eight digs. Brynlee Landis had nine digs and eight kills. Kadance Landis had eight kills and Abby Rhode had six kills. Ava Mousel had 14 assists.

Canistota was led by Natalie Becker who had 17 digs. Natalee Hofer had five digs and four assists. Kayla Papendick had seven digs, Bailey Spicer had seven assists and Sierra McGregor had five kills.

Colman-Egan (9-3) will stay at home on Thursday and host Elkton-Lake Benton at 7:15 p.m.

 Arlington 3, Madison 0

MADISON – The Cardinals (9-7) were able to get the sweep after winning by scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-20.

Harley Johnson led the way with 10 kills and 13 digs. Natalie Burns had 20 digs and eight kills. Tanaya Wiess had 29 assists and Morgan Larson had three aces.

Audrey Nelson led the Bulldogs with 15 kills. Maycee Theede had 18 digs and Karley Theede had 13 digs and 10 assists. Amanda Vacanti had 10 assists as well.

The Cardinals will host Dell Rapids St. Mary on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. before participating in the Sanford Pentagon Tournament in Sioux Falls on Saturday.

 Deubrook Area 3, Deuel 0

CLEAR LAKE – The Dolphins improved to 6-5 with the sweep over the Cardinals. They won the three sets by scores of 25-10, 25-9 and 25-11. 

Brooke Koppatschek led Deubrook with nine assists and six kills. Zoey Molengraff had seven kills and Ellie Koenig had six assists. Delaney Pederson had 10 digs and Taylor Ekern had six digs and four aces. Miranda Moravetz had six aces. 

Deuel was led by Anninka Kriz who had 17 digs. Harley Hennings had six kills and Josie Andersen had nine assists.

The Dolphins will travel to Estelline on Thursday to take on Estelline/Hendricks at 6 p.m.

 McCook Central/Montrose 3, Flandreau 1

FLANDREAU – The Fliers won the first set, but the Cougars responded with three-straight set wins to pick up the victory on Tuesday.

Flandreau (5-13) took set one 25-20 before MCM rattled off 25-13, 25-10 and 25-20 victories to take the match.

Abby Schoberl led the Fliers with 25 assists and 15 digs. Claire Sheppard had nine kills and Lizzie Pavlis had seven kills. Ella Hoffman had nine assists and Lily Klein had 14 digs.

The Cougars were led by Tayah McGregor who had 13 kills. Brandy Pulse had 13 digs and 10 kills. Brianna Even had 17 assists and Maddy Lauck had 15 assists. Aubree Kranz had 17 digs and Michaela McCormick had 13 digs.

Flandreau plays at Dell Rapids on Thursday at 7 p.m.
