Arlene J. Allison, 85, of Brookings, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at Ava’s House, in Sioux Falls. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sinai Lutheran Church in Sinai. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Rude’s Funeral Home in Brookings.
Arlene J. Miller was born on Jan. 7, 1932, in Arlington, the daughter of Christopher and Elvine (Nielsen) Miller. Arlene received her education in rural school in Kingsbury County. She married Kenneth Chapman in December of 1953.
He died in October of 1974. She married Lynn Allison in December of 1977.
They farmed in Brookings County until their retirement in 1982. They moved into Brookings in 2006.
She was a member of the Sinai Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling and embroidery and was an excellent baker.
Arlene is survived by her step-children, Duane Allison of Brookings, Marilyn (Andrew) Gisi of Topeka, Kansas, Gary (Terri) Allison of Quinn, and Sheryl Allison of Topeka, Kansas; six step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth; second husband, Lynn and one step-grandson and one step granddaughter.
