CLEAR LAKE – The Clark/Willow Lake boys and the Arlington girls won the Deuel Invite on Thursday.
Girls
The Cardinals finished with 30 points. De Smet came in second (36) and Great Plain Lutheran finished in third (40).
Madison Zirbel of the Dakota Hills won the individual race with a time of 18:41.04. Great Plains’ Halle Bauer came in second (19:18.28) and Ellie Olsen of Deubrook finished in third (19:54.34). Jaycee Hourigan of Deuel finished in fourth (20:11.05) and Sioux Valley’s Isabelle Bloker rounded out the top five (20:57.83)
Halley Miller was the top finisher for Arlington. She came in seventh (21:37.96). Ellisyn Vincent and Jada Henriksen came in 12th and 13th for the Cardinals. Vincent had a time of 21:59.20 and Henriksen finished in 22:06.46. Rachel Steffensen came in 16th (22:14.95).
Boys
Riley Benning of Estelline Hendricks won the individual race (16:42.13) which led Estelline/Hendricks to a second place finish with 34 points. They were 13 points behind the first place Cyclones. Sioux Valley came in third with 52 points.
Sioux Valley’s Colby Gatzke came in third (17:20.27). Estelline/Hendricks’ Mattix Hausman finished in 10th (18:21.26) and Sioux Valley’s Dylan Strouth was right behind him (18:23.52).
Camden Hobbs of Estelline/Hendricks came in 17th (19:14.18). The Cossacks’ Cade Gross finished in 25th (20:24.62) and Bury Dawson of Estelline/Hendricks finished right behind him.
