AURORA – In a pitchers’ duel on Friday night, the new-look Aurora A's beat the Milbank, 1-0.
Colton Wendland threw a three-hit, complete-game shutout to best Taylor Boerger and the Firechiefs.
Aurora scratched across a run in the fourth as Nathan Bostic led off with a single; and then, moved to second on an another error as Nolan Bostic reached first.
Scott Engen’s sacrifice moved both runners up before Justin Behrend put the ball in play to first base as Nathan Bostic broke for home.
Although he got in a hot box, he stayed alive and scored on a dropped ball for the only run of the contest.
Wendland walked four and hit two batters as he struck out four for the win.
Boerger gave up one hit and walked five with 13 strikeouts in the loss.
The A’s play host to Lake Norden at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
