Barbara L. Martin, 82, of Apple Valley, MN passed away on March 15, 2019, after complications from stroke and pneumonia.
She was born June 14, 1936 in Mankato, MN to Fae and Ruby (Gustafson) Bateman. She attended Mankato High School. She married Leon Martin on June 9, 1953, in Iowa and with Leon’s job, they lived in several states including Mississippi, South Dakota, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Minnesota.
She is survived by three daughters, LeAnn (Joel) Nelson of Volga; Leah Gauquie of Lake Benton, MN; Lucie (Darrell) Henry of Farmington, MN; three sons, Roger (Becky) of Lake Benton, MN; Doug (Nicole) of Farmington, MN; and Michael of Apple Valley, MN; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bruce (Jane) Bateman, and Larry (Becci) Bateman of North Mankato, MN; one sister, Jean (Merle) Otto of Madison Lake, MN, one brother-in-law, Luverne Beske, of Mankato, MN; sisters-in-law, Darlene Lehman of Clarion, IA, and Sharon Peterson, of Mankato, MN, Janet Martin of Garden City, MN; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leon of 65 years; her parents; her sister, Shirley Beske; and her brother, Wayne Bateman; her sister-in-law, Phyllis (Martin) Williams; and brothers-in-law, Dennis Martin and Barry Martin.
She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to share in her life.
A memorial service will be held at the Apple Valley Kingdom Hall on April 6 at 1:00 p.m. in Apple Valley, MN.
