Hullingers defend BCC Husband-Wife crown
BROOKINGS – Brodie Hullinger and Kelly Evans-Hullinger carded an even-par 72 to defend their Brookings Country Club Husband-Wife Championship on Sunday.
The format was preferred tee shot alternate shot.
It marked the completion of a sweep of sorts for the couple, as Kelly won her second consecutive Women’s Club Championship and fourth overall earlier this summer and Brodie claimed his second Men’s Club Championship in three years.
Chris Brozik and Dallas Willman-Brozik finished second with a score of 79.

Dave Ellis wins BCC One-Man Scramble
BROOKINGS – Dave Ellis defeated Jake Steen and Brodie Hullinger on a scorecard playoff to win the Brookings Country Club One-Man Scramble on Saturday.
All three golfers fired 12-under-par 60s.
Ellis (31-29) and Steen (28-32) both made 10 birdies and an eagle. Hullinger (29-31) had eight birdies and two eagles.
Casey VanDamme and Matt Krogman, who won Flight 2, tied for fourth overall at 61.
Scott Holm, Gregg Roach, Kevin Eisenbeisz and Zach Zephier tied for sixth with 62s.
Alex Steen and Flight 3 winner Brent Steen both shot 63 to round out the top 10.
Other flight winners were: Flight 4, Rob Klinkefus, 64; Flight 5, Murray Coble, 65; Flight 6, Kyle Bender and Matt Cadwell, 66; Flight 7, John Johnson and Rick Fjerstad, 72.
Ninety-nine golfers competed in the event, which was open to non-members.
