BROOKINGS – After the Blizzard scored three straight goals in the second period for a 3-2 lead through two, Bismarck tallied two in the third to pull out a 4-3 Central Division win on Saturday night at Larson Ice Center.
The Bobcats led 1-0 after a period before pushing their advantage to two goals with a power-play tally midway through the second.
Brady Bjork sandwiched a pair of goals around Gabe Wahl’s lamp lighter to go up 3-2 heading into the final frame. Bud Winter set up the first two goals as Owen Belisle helped on Bjork’s second score.
But Ryan Taylor netted his third goal of the game for the Bobcats to tie the score 4 minutes into the final frame, and then, Adam Stacho scored what proved to be the game winner with 12:35 remaining.
Bismarck held a 32-24 advantage in shots as John Roberts earned the win in goal with 21 saves.
George McBey stopped 28 Bobcats shots in the loss.
Brookings, 9-36-2-1 with 21 points, heads to Bismarck this weekend for two more with the Bobcats, who improved to 26-18-2-1 for fourth place in the standings with 55 points.
The puck drops at 7:15 p.m. both nights at Riverside Arena.
