BROOKINGS – Jimmy Elser’s power-play goal 3 minutes into overtime lifted the Brookings Blizzard over the Midwest Division-leading Janesville Jets 4-3 on Friday at Larson Ice Center.
Cameron Teamor and Brendan Aird both assisted.
The Blizzard scored a pair of first-period goals as Doug Larson lit the lamp on assists from Chase Brand and Carson Kosobud, and Josh Boyer netted an unassisted shorthanded tally.
The Jets pulled even in the second on goals by Sam Renlund and Tanner Polglaze (power play).
Brookings was up 3-2 heading to the third following Andriy Denyskin’s goal. Larson was credited with the assist.
Janesville again knotted things up as Logan Ommen had a goal with 3:49 remaining in the game.
Zachary Borgiel had 22 saves to earn the win in goal.
Janesville’s Daniel Lebedeff made 36 stops. Polglaze, Renlund, Matt Hanewall and Logan Ommen each had an assist.
