SIOUX FALLS – The Bobcat boys’ tennis team beat Spearfish but fell to Brandon Valley and O’Gorman to open the season Friday.
Brookings hosts a triangular on Tuesday, taking on Aberdeen Roncalli at noon and Mitchell at 5 p.m.
• Brandon Valley 9, Brookings 0
The Lynx’s Dawson Johnson defeat Micah Ardry 10-1 in the No. 1 singles match.
Landon Kocer dropped Dawson Peters 10-6 at No. 2.
In the top flight doubles match, Johnson and Kocer were 10-7 victors over Ardry and Peters.
• Brookings 7, Spearfish 2
Ardry defeated Rudy Isburg 10-4 in No. 1 singles action. Peters was a 10-5 victor over Jensen Damberg at No. 2.
The Bobcat duo combined for a 10-1 win over Isburg and Damberg at No. 1 singles.
In other singles matches, Derek Brallier (No. 3) beat Brock Bacon 10-4, Aditya Tummala (No. 5) dropped Bridger Meyer 10-6 and Braylon Peters (No. 6) won 10-1 versus Leo Isburg.
At No. 3 doubles, Tummala and Braylon Peters beat Meyer and Leo Isburg 10-8.
• O’Gorman 9, Brookings
Zach Ridl dropped Ardry 10-0 at No. 1 singles and teamed with Alex Lupu for a 10-3 defeat of Ardry and Dawson Peters in the No. 1 doubles match.
